Develop robust cell based approaches and technologies to establish the activity and mechanism of action of candidate therapeutics.
Employ state of the art cell and molecular biology tools to understand the biology of proteins of interest and validate novel therapeutic targets
Develop and/or execute cell assays amenable to phenotypic screens or to support drug development
Remain current in and critically evaluate literature to extract and present ideas and approaches for addressing experimental challenges
Remain an active laboratory contributor and supervise junior scientists
Prepare, review and deliver scientific presentations as needed
Credentials, Skills, Behaviors & Knowledge
PhD with postdoctoral experience (additional industrial experience a strong plus) or Master’s degree with at least 8 years industrial experience
Enthusiastic about discovering therapeutic drugs and contributing to the science literature
Command of current cell and molecular biology approaches
Command of a human disease relevant biology, ideally immunology, though other areas will be considered
Ability to collaborate in teams and work with others in a matrixed environment
Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills
Comfortable with changing direction and taking risks

There are more than 300 clinical trials at major medical centers using compounds from Celgene.
