The Market Access Executive is responsible for developing and managing the strategic planning and tactical efforts for assigned geography. The Market Access Executive works cross-functionally with Market Access partners, Sales franchises, Marketing and Celgene leadership to achieve / exceed goals.
*Preference is to have candidates living within the territory - Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, or Minnesota.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develops the strategic objectives and tactical market access business plan for Celgene’s portfolio specific to assigned geography. Market segment responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Payers (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid), PBMs, State Medicaid & Medicare FFS, Regional SPs, Healthcare Coalitions, Employers, and Unions.
Effectively communicates with and leads cross-functional teams including Pricing & Contracting, Sales, Marketing, Medical, Health Economics, State Government Affairs, Policy, Patient Support and Senior Management to execute business plans and deliver results.
Secures, protects and/or improves access for the Celgene portfolio of products with any customer that implements a formulary or pathway, or accepts risk.
Sets direction to manage key decision makers and policymakers in assigned geography and promotion of Celgene products. Maximizes relationships with healthcare influencers to support product positioning.
Initiates pursuit of market access opportunities for all new product or new indication launches.
Aligns with Channel Marketing to assess and deploy approved resources in support of market access objectives.
Manages customer relationships that leads to level of trusted partner with C-Suite, Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, Formulary Directors, Clinical Pharmacists, Contract Managers, Claims Processors, Case Managers, Benefit Managers and other key influencers in assigned geography.
Works collaboratively with business partners (i.e. Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Pricing & Contracting, Corporate Affairs, Customer Care, Patient Support, Sales Ops, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Market Research, Medical, etc.) to deliver a proactive and seamless approach to customers.
Understands complex market dynamics and influencers such as ACA, MACRA, Pathways, OCM, CMS and the relationships between upstream and downstream clients, i.e. IDNs, ACOs, PCMHs.
Effectively presents to internal (i.e. business plans, briefings, contract proposals) and external (i.e. FDAMA 114, value propositions, clinical decks) key stakeholders to increase awareness, garner support and achieve market access goals.
Designs, negotiates, executes and measures performance of rebate and value-based contracts across portfolio. Manages fiscal impact of pricing and contracting terms.
Effectively implements and executes pull through of National and Regional contracts.
Facilitates and provides timely marketplace feedback to Celgene management regarding business trends, issues, and/or opportunities.
5+ years of large or complex key account management experience at Regional and/or National level
Payer, PBM, Employer, Specialty Pharmacy account management experience
Prior sales management and/or marketing experience
Experience in Hematology/Oncology and/or Immunology/Inflammatory therapeutic areas
Strong record of leadership and demonstration of leadership skills
Ability to take initiative and excel in an autonomous work environment
Existing relationships with key influencers/payers within the assigned geography
Knowledge of issues, trends and needs of Payers and Influencers within assigned geography
Experience in negotiating Payer/PBM Contracts
A comprehensive understanding of all Market Access customer segments
Successful experience with new product and expanded indication launches within Payer/PBM accounts
Demonstrated ability to work and integrate cross-functionally
Successfully able to create vision, present concept(s) and gain commitment from internal and external customers
