Job Summary

Associate Director/Director Demand Planning is part of the CAR T Supply Chain Planning organization. Primary responsibility of this role is to create and maintain a demand plan and to implement all forecasting processes associated with creating an accurate demand signal for the supply chain. The individual will develop and maintain forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons by incorporating business intelligence compiled through partnerships with Commercial teams, Apheresis Operations, Finance and others (as required) to achieve Celgene’s business objectives.

As part of the S&OP team this role will participate in monthly planning meetings that drive business goals. This position supports continuous improvement efforts for demand planning processes to assure best in class forecast resulting in reliable plant capacity requirements, high customer satisfaction, optimum raw material inventory and robust financial plans.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, to the following:

  • Develop operational forecasts for Celgene’s portfolio of autologous products

  • Conduct weekly / monthly demand planning and consensus meetings with a cross-functional team

  • Serve as the primary CAR T Supply Chain contact for Demand Planning

  • Work closely with extended Supply Planning team to make decisions to support manufacturing objectives which ensure all our patients are served

  • Partner with key Commercial, Clinical and Finance partners to support an effective monthly planning and S&OP process

  • Continuously improve forecasting processes, techniques, and systems

  • Set up and maintain data parameters required for forecasting and reporting

  • Escalate business critical decisions points to management

  • Identify opportunities and support the creation of new business processes to support improving forecasts for autologous products

  • Lead cross-functional projects and convene cross-functional meetings to resolve issues

  • Partner with other stakeholders to create and implement best practices

  • Proactively communicate critical changes to downstream supply chain partners

  • Develop understanding of cell therapy landscape to project forecast over the lifecycle of the product

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • 12+ years of experience in demand planning; preferably in global pharmaceutical environment

  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and the impacts of forecasting on supply chain performance

  • Experienced in setting priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated strong aptitude in analysis, root causes identification, and problem solving

  • Bachelor’s degree required ideally in Supply Chain, Mathematics, Engineering or Life Sciences

  • Experience with Patient-Based forecasting desired

  • Ability to build strong relationships across functions and levels

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to synthesize information into a presentation appropriate to the organizational-level of the audience. Able to summarize information concisely and communicate it using appropriate medium

  • Must be able to work with limited day-to-day supervision

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required including; Excel; Outlook; PowerPoint; experience with forecast modeling tools and ERP systems

  • APICS certification is a plus
