PREREQUISITES

Ph.D.’s degree in molecular biology, cellular biology, immunology or related scientific discipline with at least 2 years work experience or Master’s degree with at least 6 years, Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years work experience preferred.

Molecular Profiling and Bioinformatics (MPB) team within Product Science group of Cell Therapy Development Department has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated experienced scientist to join our team. MPB group carries responsibility to identify, develop and implement molecular profiling methods, bioinformatics approaches and data management to enable CQA definition and product characterization. The candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments for various molecular profiling platforms to investigate cell therapy product and provide data for bioinformatics team to perform a range of analyses. The candidate must have skills to carry out a spectrum of molecular biology techniques related to molecular profiling assays and should be adept in learning and implementing new technologies as they become available. The candidate must be an independent, result-oriented, highly adaptable induvial who enjoys working in a fast-paced scientific environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate data by conducting experiments for various molecular profiling platforms

  • Evaluate, improve and implement new protocols when new technology is available

  • Conduct due diligence on evaluating CROs/Vendors when it’s necessary

  • Collaborate with new biology group and other groups in product science, I/O TCoE and Translational Development to advance Celgene cellular immunotherapy

  • Effectively communicate with internal/external collaborators, CROs to solve issues from experiments and improve and develop relevant molecular profiling methods

Qualification and experience:

  • Ph.D.’s degree in molecular biology, cellular biology, immunology or related scientific discipline with at least 2 years work experience or Master’s degree with at least 6 years, Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years work experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques such as: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, western blot, molecular cloning, gene knockdown and etc

  • Experience with high throughput molecular profiling platforms such as Next-Gen Sequencing, microarray, Fludigim PCR and etc is required

  • Experience with complex molecular protocols are desirable such as single cell RNA-Seq and LAM/LM-PCR

  • Experience with high-throughput screening assays is a plus

  • Modify existing experimental protocols or develop new procedures to meet specific scientific requests

  • Can operate most basic lab instruments; experience with complex biological instrumentation, such as Agilent Bioanalyzer, NextGen Sequencers, 10x Genomics Chromium Controller is a plus

  • Excellent laboratory and organizational skills

  • Prepares written and/or verbal reports.

  • Candidates must be able to effectively interpret the results within biological context to your peers with different backgrounds
